2017 at Spirit YPC/YDC - Unseen Footage!

On the last day of 2017, here is a video summing up our year - the parts you HAVEN'T seen before!!! This year our students have trained harder than ever, produced many fantastic performances, performed on some incredible stages, have been cast in multiple West End productions, been recognised and acclaimed by industry leaders ... and we can't wait to accomplish even more in 2018! 2017 kicked off with our own full-scale production at the iconic Hackney Empire! The show sold out and our students got to perform some of our favourite numbers live, in front of 1000 audience members. We went on to perform at Move It on the Main Stage, Showcase Theatre and Capezio Championships. Our Dance Company performed at the beautiful National Theatre Gala. We opened the Westminster Community Awards, and we joined the all-star lineup at the Royal Albert Hall in 'Magic at the Musicals', broadcast on Magic Radio. We continued to showcase our performance troupes to MILLIONS of viewers around the world, with new productions released to our YouTube Channel every week! At the end of 2017, our main channel has attracted more than 43 MILLION audience members. This is an incredible accomplishment; for the hard work of our students to have touched the hearts, inspired and entertained so many is further incentive to keep pushing for excellence. Not only have these videos touched and inspired, they have also drawn the acclaim of the industry - most notably this year, from Disney Music Ltd! Also, Lionsgate offered our Singing Troupe a spot in the La La Land trailer, and stars/creatives from West End/Broadway productions continue to watch and share our performances. With more offers and opportunities coming in, we can't wait for what next year will bring! In terms of professional success, multiple students have this year been cast in West End and UK Tours, including 'Matilda the Musical', 'School of Rock', 'Annie', 'Les Miserables', 'Sound of Music', 'The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 ¾', 'Mary Poppins' and more! Not only that, but SYDC student Twinkle Jaiswal can be seen as 1/4 of the band 'KidzBop UK', selling singles and albums all over the world! Our Dance Company, which launched in September 2016, has gone from strength to strength. Providing students with professional-level training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Kicks/Leaps/Turns, Tumbling, Conditioning, Stretch, Commercial and more, the students are unrecognisable from where they were a year ago! The Dance Company competition team have swept up 1st place awards in all of this season's competitions and continue to train hard to achieve even more next year. This year our students have been lucky to work with and learn from incredible stars & creatives from West End/Broadway (including stars of Hamilton, 42nd Street, In the Heights, Half a Sixpence, Wicked, Legally Blonde, the Book of Mormon and more), perform alongside famous dance duo Twist & Pulse, and train with some of the UK's top dance instructors and vocal coaches. And ALL OF THIS on a PART TIME SCHEDULE of evening or weekend training! We are so proud of our amazing team! And - as you will see from the video - it is not all just training and rehearsal. Our students create strong bonds and a family-like atmosphere amongst each other and with teachers. Is is important to us that we produce performers who are not just talented and industry-ready, but also genuinely nice human beings too. Perhaps what makes us more proud than anything is how happy, enthusiastic, encouraging and supportive the young members of #TeamSpirit really are! Thank you to everybody who makes all this possible!
