Today we live in a special time when the Body of Christ is losing many spiritual fathers and mothers. Understand, dear ones, that the forces of darkness are waging a completely different battle against mature children of God. This battle is much more subtle. It's not just temptations to stop them, these blows to destroy them. When a simple Christian is being battled, their personality is being attacked, and temptation often affects their mood, feelings, emotions, loss of peace, depression, and so on. Against a simple Christian, these attacks are most often successful, and the person stops moving forward, trying to bring their feelings, mood, and emotions into order. But with mature Christians, this no longer works, because mature Christians have learned to function and move through attacks so successfully that they are often not even shaken by the attack. Therefore, the enemy absolutely must change his tactics in the battle against mature children of God. So, the attack of darkness or temptation against mature people is based not on the standard attack—on their feelings, emotions, mood, etc.—but specifically on their function and their identity. In other words, on who they are, their dreams, their function, and what they need to achieve. Note that when the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, it wasn't Jesus's personality, His emotions, feelings, peace, honor, etc., that was under attack. It was Jesus's function, His identity, and His mission that was under attack. There in the wilderness, the devil challenged Jesus three times to do something, to prove something, to perform some action. (Luke 4:1-13) 1. Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit and led by Him, returned from the banks of the Jordan into the wilderness... Frankly, most of God's children aren't even allowed to experience this level of attack until they grow spiritually and mature enough to enter into their functions and identity. The meaning of the word "temptation" is to draw a person to an action they desire. James says, "Everyone is tempted by his own lust." I've personally witnessed mature individuals fall near me several times, simply because they thought they needed to move and act, but it was an attack of the enemy. They told me to my face that I was stopping God's advance. Having taken a step, they lost everything... The forces of darkness are incapable of stopping mature individuals, and another temptation arises: to allow or help them do something supposedly for God. That is, to help them move toward their dreams and their calling, but at the wrong time, with the wrong people, in the wrong season, and in the wrong place. The enemy's ideas will sound like your own in your mind because the enemy knows your desires, your identity, and your function. In other words, the enemy will speak to you in your own language. The temptation is to open doors that only God should open, to do what only God should do in His time. One of the tests all mature individuals must pass is the ability to wait and trust God's timing. The attack will be to make action your function and identity. Note that the devil could have turned stones into bread and placed them before Jesus, but he didn't. He told Jesus, "You turn stones into bread!" And for Jesus, turning stones into bread would have cost nothing, but for Jesus, obedience to the Father was far more desirable and precious than satisfying thirst and hunger. The question for mature individuals is this: what do you desire more: God Himself and the fulfillment of His will, or the achievement of your dreams and the fulfillment of your calling? The power of victory for a mature son of God lies in wanting nothing more than to fulfill the Father's desires and what the Father wants. And this is where victory lies. For me, love for the Father and obedience are far more precious than awakening and moving forward in the gifts of my function. It sounds strange, but for me personally, love, relationships, and the desire to fulfill His will are far more precious than the salvation of an entire nation. Jesus didn't heal or resurrect masses of people simply because He did only what He saw the Father do. How many times have I personally witnessed the fall of the mature around me? When they should have done nothing but stand and wait, they began to move, and in the process, their destinies collapsed. How many times have I been condemned by such people for inaction, accused of coldness and lack of spirituality, and in the process, they took the step they claimed "God" told them to take. But believe me, dear ones, I know this "God" very well. He is the enemy of human souls, who urged them to...
