Waiting On A Friend from The Rolling Stones 1981 Album Tattoo You is one of my favorite Stones songs so I wanted it to be the first cover of hopefully many I get to do by the band. I always get a tad of melancholy whenever I hear this song, so it stirs up certain emotions, and it especially makes me think about old friends that aren't alive anymore. First and foremost, a man who I liked to view as a friend in his later years, is my father Tom who passed in late 2017, who was also a huge Stones fan. I know he would've loved to watch and listen to this video, so this is dedicated in part to him and my fonder memories of him. Love ya Dad... This song also goes out to my friend and former bandmate, Chris Peck, who died much too young in 2011 at 43, and Aaron Brannen, a close neighbor who passed very recently much too young at 41. "Waiting on a Friend" is a song by the Rolling Stones from their 1981 album Tattoo You.
