After a brain injury wiped her memory, Jing had to relearn who she was
Explaining retrograde amnesia is no easy task. That’s why Jing Wu uses the Jason Bourne series and 50 First Dates as a reference. But rather than being a CIA assassin or Drew Barrymore, Jing is a pharmacist who is dedicated to helping others who face adversity. The 26-year-old has a hard time recalling anything that occurred over five years ago. She was told that while longboarding, she had an accident that placed her in a coma in the hospital. She suffered from a traumatic brain injury and had to re-learn all learned behavior like emotion, walking, smell and taste. Yet she chose to follow the path that her past self had created, pursuing a doctorate just two months after being discharged from the hospital. After struggling with years of contemplating suicide, Jing realized she had purpose in helping others.
