Buying a Used 1984 VW Scirocco! | How Bad Is It? (Part 1/3)

Instead of just a normal build series, I wanted to give myself a real challenge. I wanted to buy a stock 37 year old VW pick it up, drive it 500 miles, swap the engine in 2.5 days then drive 630miles home. I also have a tight window because I have a family vacation at the end of the week. We purchased a 1984 VW Scirocco for our VR6 swap, but most often VW enthusiasts would engine swap a MK1 or MK2, Jetta or Rabbit.
