It is probably the largest 19th-century cemetery outside Europe and America, which was built in 1767 and was used until 1830. South Park Street Cemetery is a Grade I Heritage. Currently, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) jointly maintain this cemetery. There are a total of 1,600 tombs here, which belong to British military officers and their families, colonial elite bureaucrats of the 18th and 19th centuries. ------------------------------------------------------ 📌 How to get there? 🚄 If you go by metro, get off at Park Street Metro Station, exit through Gate No. 3 and walk for 15-16 minutes. 🚌 If you go by bus, take bus 227,230,234,21/1 etc. from Sealdah to Mallik Bazar Crossing, then walk for 2 minutes. 📌 When is it open?
