"Hay que tener cuidado con los familiares más cercanos" -ELENA VILLANUEVA FUNDACIÓN GRANITO DE ARENA

In this episode of Healing the Impossible, we talk with Elena Villanueva, a survivor of sexual abuse and founder of the organization "Granito de Arena" (Grain of Sand), an association that has been supporting children and families who are victims of abuse in Mexico for over a decade. Through an intimate conversation, Elena shares how such a painful experience ended up becoming a life mission. We talk about the silence, the guilt, the fear, and the emotional scars left by abuse… but also about the real possibility of healing, rebuilding oneself, and helping others from within one's own wounds. In addition, Elena explains how child sexual abuse operates, why many victims never speak out, how to identify warning signs, and what role families and society play in the face of this reality that we often prefer not to see. Today, through the Granito de Arena Foundation, she has helped hundreds of child survivors, providing psychological support, guidance, and prevention in vulnerable communities.
