35. Katha Upanishad

Discussion on verses 3.13 and 3.14 3.13 yacchet vāk manasī prājñas tat yacchet jñāna ātmani | jñānam ātmani mahati niyacchet tat yacchet śānta ātmani || The wise person withdraws outward activity into the mind, the mind into clear understanding, the understanding into deeper awareness, and finally rests everything in the peaceful Self.   3.14 uttiṣṭhata jāgrata prāpya varān nibodhata | kṣurasya dhārā niśitā duratyayā durgaṃ pathas tat kavayo vadanti || Arise, awaken, and approach the wise to understand this truth. The path is as sharp as a razor’s edge — difficult to tread — so say the wise.
