Repertoire: The Haydn Symphony CRUSADE (No. 60)

Haydn: Symphony No. 60 in C major "Il distratto" ("The Distracted") This work began life as incidental music for a play about a man so absent-minded that he nearly forgets his own wedding. Haydn turned the music, which was highly regarded in its day, into a six-movement symphony that has all of the coherence and inevitability characteristic of Haydn's more "conventional" works in the form.
