Support Our Channel :   / periscopefilm   This Cold War era film dates to 1956 and shows the Tactical Air Command Air Strike Force concept in an exercise known as Operation Mobile Baker, undertaken by the 19th Air Force out of Foster AFB, Texas. Shown in the exercise are F-84 Thunderstreak bombers, F-100C Super Sabres, and RF-84 photo recon aircraft, B-66 tactical bombers built to carry nuclear weapons in all weather, the KB-29 and KB-150 tankers. The aircraft are rapidly sent to Europe, with tankers refueling the aircraft in their long journey halfway across the world. The mission of Tactical Air Command was to deliver atomic bombs anywhere on earth. In the film General O.P. Weyland explains the concepts behind the Tactical Air Command and shows operational exercises in 1956 called Mobile Baker. These "provided convincing evidence of Tactical Air Command's readiness to meet aggression anytime, anywhere, with decisive results."
