A disputa pela marca "Krav-Maga" | Era uma vez...

Krav Maga is a fighting/self-defense system developed by Emrich "Imi" Lichtenfeld and adopted as a standard by the Israeli army. In Brazil, the Krav Maga trademark was the subject of a fierce dispute between two disciples of the founder of the system, the brothers Yaron and "Kobi" Lichtenstein. On the one hand, Kobi, the introducer of the system in Brazil, had registered the term (Krav Maga) as a trademark in the 1990s. His brother, Yaron, attempted to establish his academies in the country, also using the term Krav Maga for his academies, and was sued by Kobi. Yaron, in turn, filed a lawsuit to nullify Kobi's trademark registration. Both attempted, unsuccessfully, to register the Krav Maga trademark under Class 41 of the Nice Convention. In this video, Prof. Claudio reviews the conflict and explains the legal framework that underpins how the dispute was ultimately "resolved."
