The Day the Queen of Cold Got a Facelift (1998)

Get ready for our campy and fun one hour homemade movie: The Day the Queen of Cold Got a Facelift. My late wife, Adrianne, stars in her very original, cautionary tale. She wrote and directed it, while I filmed and edited it in our home, Havencrest Castle, way back in 1998. I personally had the time of my life! I enjoyed "chewing up the scenery" along with the rest of the quirky cast, playing Morris Monticup and Ivor Ivanovitch, two of the story's over-the-top characters. It's a real blast from the past and lots of memories came flooding back when I got to watch it again after so many years! I give a 5 minute introduction for it way up in the 5th floor Crystal Tower, since that location was used for some of the key scenes back in '98. Skip this to jump right in. Filmed entirely at Havencrest Castle and our very own "Mon Temples des Songes Theatre," decorated by Adrianne, in the first Facemakers (mascot costumes) Savanna, IL location on Chicago Ave. Synopsis: Enter our realm of fantasy characters in this one hour movie that teaches the folly of vanity, and how true self-esteem is based on positive values...not external things like wealth, popularity or fame. The Queen of Cold tries to tempt the lovely Princess of Spring into surrendering her youth. Along the way, Monkey Boy learns the meaning of true love, and the shocking finale has the wicked queen undone with a happily-ever-after ending that rewards courage and honour. About 60 minutes.
