In the video I teach how to transform sodium bicarbonate into sodium carbonate through a chemical decomposition reaction, or analysis, where we take a substance and generate more than one at the end of the process. Of the three types of decomposition reactions, photolysis, through light, electrolysis, through the passage of electric current and pyrolysis, through the addition of heat to the system, we used the latter, where our energy source was fire. Also known as thermal decomposition, pyrolysis occurs by the rupture of the original molecular structure of a given compound by the action of heat. It is an endothermic reaction.
