Like a palace complex, from the entrance in the form of a gate, we pass terrace after terrace to the main building of the temple. The panoramic view of the mountains with cold air can be felt even though the sun is scorching in the area of Berjo Village, Ngargoyoso District, where the temple is located. The Sukuh Temple complex consists of three terraced courtyards. The gate of the first yard is on the west. The gate is pyramid-shaped, shaped like a decapitated cone, decorated with a mask-like head that is above the doorway. Attracting attention, on the inside of the gate there are reliefs of naturalistic phallus and yoni carved on the floor of the entrance to the temple courtyard. The gate of the second yard is broken, only a staircase with nine steps remains. Meanwhile, the third courtyard gate faces the main temple. Sukuh Temple is very special. Privileges can be seen from the architectural form which resembles a truncated pyramid, statues of animals, human statues, and plants with high artistic taste, as well as several reliefs about past lives.
