DEAL: Is This Town LOST IN TIME?

EPISODE 7: In this episode of Tudor Travels, I am back in the charming seaside town of Deal, Kent, for a "voyage of discovery." Unlike my previous historical deep-dives, this video is a spontaneous ramble from Deal Station to the iconic Deal Pier. Along the way, I meander through the town's famous winding alleyways—the notorious Smugglers' paths of the past—to see what hidden gems remain. We explore the Middle Street conservation area, check out the Astor Community Theatre, and hunt for Blue Plaques belonging to legends like Charles Hawtrey and composer John Ireland. I also take a "POV" look at the High Street to see how many independent shops and bakeries are thriving in a town that feels wonderfully "lost in time". We finish the trip with a blustery walk on the pier and a well-earned hot chocolate at the café. Is Deal the best-preserved seaside town in Kent?
