Karnataka's Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said weak governance, rather than traffic or potholes alone, is the root cause of Bengaluru's long-standing civic challenges. Speaking at the Rising Bharat Summit South Edition, Gowda outlined the Karnataka government's roadmap to rebuild India's technology capital, including a ₹4,000–5,000 crore investment in road infrastructure, a new scientific garbage management system, expansion of the Bengaluru Metro to around 170 km by the end of 2027, e-Khata property reforms and measures to improve pedestrian infrastructure while balancing livelihoods.
