The number of carcinogenic oils being investigated continues to rise, with two more batches added, bringing the total to five batches totaling approximately 5,756 metric tons of soybean salad oil failing quality tests. The list of downstream affected businesses is also expanding, including chain restaurants such as Costco, Wacheng, and Sushi Fresh. Additionally, 623 schools and 258 kindergartens have stopped using the oil and have removed it from their shelves as a precaution.
