Foz de Arbayún - Ruta Usún - S. Pedro de Usún (Navarra)

Our route begins in the village of Usún, which belongs to the municipality of Romanzado. There, we'll find a dirt track with the Leire mountain range as a backdrop. We continue along the track, which eventually becomes a path, with some descents and a few stones, but it's not too difficult to navigate. After a pleasant walk of just over a kilometer, we reach the bridge that crosses the Salazar River. From the riverbank, we can admire the end of the Arbayún gorge with its enormous walls. Leaving the river to one side, we continue along the marked path. We arrive at the Hermitage of San Pedro de Usún, nestled in this secluded and beautiful spot. Its consecration is recorded in the year 829, making it the first church mentioned in Navarrese historical documents. Its current state dates from the 18th century.
