Photo Tour of America's Packard Museum

Today Cheesehead Motors invites you to join this photo tour of ‪@americaspackardmuseum‬in Dayton, Ohio to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the last “true” Packard rolling off the assembly line on June 25, 1956. The final Packard Patrician Sedan was built in Detroit marking the end of the original Packard Motor Car Company's vehicle production nearly 57 years after the company’s first automobile was produced on November 6, 1899. Although the Packard name was used on re-badged Studebaker cars for the 1957 and 1958 model years following a corporate merger in 1954, these were not authentic Packards. Approximately 2 million Packards were built from 1899 to 1956 including numerous iconic luxury cars from the 1930s and early post-WWII era such as the 1934-1939 Twelve and the 1933-1950 Super Eight models. Packard also made legendary contributions to America’s war production effort during WWII by building approximately 55,000 Merlin V12 aircraft engines under license from Rolls Royce for use in iconic aircraft like the P-51D Mustang. #packard #classiccarlovers #carmuseum #automotivehistory America’s Packard Museum in downtown Dayton houses an extraordinary collection of Packard vehicles from the 1910s through the 1950s in a historic former Packard dealership.
