Gritty March Walleye Run! Fighting SE Winds near Belle Isle & US Steel

The 2026 Detroit River Walleye season is officially heating up! We headed out this past Sunday to kick off the March run, and the river didn't make it easy on us. With 12-15mph winds out of the South East fighting the current, boat control was a constant battle from Belle Isle all the way down past US Steel. Despite the tough conditions and some soft bites early on, the fish definitely showed up. We break down our runs near the Ambassador Bridge and why this year is already looking much more promising than the "dirty water" season of 2025.
