ଛେରାପହଁରାକୁ ନେଇ ବଡ଼ ବିବାଦ ! Nayagarh Rath Yatra Row | Chhera Pahanra Ritual | Odia News Tension erupted during the Rath Yatra celebrations in Nayagarh over the sacred Chhera Pahanra ritual. Servitors and local residents objected to the Deputy Collector performing the ritual on the chariot. Following the District Collector's intervention, the ritual was carried out by the traditional Parichha servitor, while the Deputy Collector remained present on Balabhadra's chariot. However, the Deputy Collector later stepped down from the chariot and left. The Chhera Pahanra rituals for the Subhadra and Jagannath chariots were subsequently performed by the Parichha servitor, after which the Rath Yatra continued peacefully. According to reports, the dispute is linked to a long-standing disagreement between two royal families regarding the right to perform the ritual.
