Adult Figure Skating Progress: 1 YEAR!

(There were some months where the rink was closed. I obviously wasn’t making progress in those months because I wasn’t skating so I don’t count them. Hence, the oldest clips in this video are from October 2020, a year and a half ago, but when you subtract the months where I couldn’t skate it’s been a year.) So, can you start figure skating if you’re not a kid? YES!! There’s no such thing as too late. Take it from someone who started at 15, when most other kids my age were way ahead of me. this is my one YEAR progress of being an adult figure skater! A whole YEAR of skating!!! (well, technically a “teen figure skater” but when you start late even as a teen, stepping on the ice with toddlers doing axels makes you feel like a grandma lmao.) figure skating is quite the challenge but so fun, and even though i'll never reach the Olympic level of skaters like Yuzuru Hanyu, Nathan Chen or Anna Scherbakova doesn't mean I can't have a good time. this is my one year progress, and i hope to share with y'all my progress for many more years to come! progress videos were a big part in me starting figure skating, especially the ones by Minasees, Marshall Spins, Natalia Shershakova and Imone!Onice. its so cool to see the adult skating community has such a presence online. whether youre a figure skater, a fan of figure skating, considering starting or just buried in a youtube rabbithole i hope you got something out of this video.
