Bob Hope vs Women's Liberation Movement (Miss World 1970) - 'November 20th 1970'.
Bob Hope was a standup comedy pioneer - a master and did a lot of good in his extremely unbeatably long career. He was a great man but also failed in some aspects to keep up with social issues. An element of his persona as a 'ladies man' worked when he was younger - but as he got older times had changed.. This is a video essay about how he never took the Women's Liberation Movement seriously - leading up to Miss World 1970 where his provocative monologue caused immediate chaos. Includes - How Bob skills were like Frank Sinatras. Woody Allen using the 'Hope' method. Sammy Davis Jr confronted in 1975. Phyllis Diller/Totie Fields/Ruth Buzzi own Hope. Bing Crosby or Bob - Who's the father? The strangest movie concept in History. If you have any memories of Bob Hope or met him I seriously would love to know. Please comment below. Would love to collate them at some point and put them into a video. Narrated, edited and produced by Ciaran.
