Episode 64 Namaste, We are Shirish and Pooja and Welcome to a Bread Fruit Recipes Special Episode of ‪@RedSoilStories‬ Breadfruit is a species of flowering tree in the mulberry and jackfruit family believed to be a domesticated descendant of Artocarpus camansi originating in New Guinea, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippines. It was initially spread to Oceania via the Austronesian expansion. It is mostly cultivated in southern part of India and Sri Lanka also. It is also known as Neer Fanas (नीर फणस), Fansule (फणसुले), Vilayati Fanas (विलायती फणस) etc in Marathi. Pooja went to one of our neighbor's garden to collect these Breadfruits. The tree was tall, she harvested the breadfruits by plucking them with a stick. She returned home with a basketful of breadfruits, for evening snack that day, she prepared Sweet Chips and Breadfruit fritters, we enjoyed both with tea. Next day she prepared Breadfruit lunch recipes which included Breadfruit curry and fried breadfruits ( Breadfruit rava fry ). We enjoyed both at lunch. Let us know how do you liked this episode..!
