Pimp My Filter #97 - All Pond Solutions 1400EF+ / SunSun HW-403B Canister Filter

This filter is a decent price and has a reasonably good set up (as far as what comes in the trays, not how the materials are placed) direct from the manufacturer. However, it can easily be altered to make it more efficient by following the simple instructions in this video. These are the APS and SunSun filter equivalents, flow rates and how much Biohome Ultimate media will fit in them but the search results for SunSun filters are so confusing that the SunSun model numbers below may not be 100% correct: EF1000 / EF1000+ (SunSun 402 / 402B / 702 / 702B), max. flow rate is 1000 lph (264 US gph). 2.3kg (5.06 lb) Biohome Ultimate in top 2 trays. For tanks up to 230 litres (60.5 US gal.) with normal stock or 115 litres (30 US gal.) with heavy stock / marine (for a full cycle). Video I did on the All Pond Solutions HOB-500 (best HOB filter):    • Pimp My Filter #27 - All Pond Solutions HO...   HOB-500 on Amazon: https://geni.us/Q4AI37t As long as you use a normal water dechlorinator (e.g. API Stress Coat) which simply makes water safe for life and not a water conditioner which actively starves bacteria by locking up the food it needs or / and adversely affecting the bacterial binary fission process (e.g. Seachem Prime) then you can achieve a full cycle in any tank with the correct filtration, sized properly and set up with full filtration as the goal.
