Ghostly Japan Story: The Tanuki and the Train
In this episode we start with an original story inspired by tales of late 19th/early 20th century ghost train sightings from Japan. A bakedanuki, a supernatural raccoon dog, struggles to find his place in a rapidly modernizing Japan. Through a series of events he is set on a collision course with modernity. Will he be able to overcome the challenges of this new Japan? Afterwards, stick around for a discussion of the real life stories that inspired the story and the history behind it.
