Making a Pepper's Ghost Viewer!

Ghostly illusions have been a popular trick in theatres and on screen for over a hundred years. We explore how to create this effect by making our very own Pepper's Ghost Viewer! #Illusion #GhostEffect #PeppersGhost -- Materials -- • A Clear Plastic Sheet or Glass (to make our magical reflection) • A Small Box or Enclosure (where the magic happens) • A Smartphone or Tablet (to show our ghostly image) • Black Background Material (like fabric or paper, to make things pop) • Tape or Glue (to hold everything together) -- Procedure -- 1. Prepare your box by trimming off flaps and patching any holes using duct tape. If you want, you can turn the inside black using paint or fabric. 2. Place your translucent material, your glass or plexiglass, inside the box. Use tape or get inventive to hold it in place. It needs to be at about a 45° angle between your subject and your audience. 3. Place your subject or device on the bottom of the box. You will likely need to adjust your device and your translucent material to get the angle right for your audience. 4. Use a video on your device that has a black background that will disappear during the illusion.
