Alpha Arbutin Be Minimalist vs Alpha Arbutin The Ordinary Are So Different! I Tested Them BOTH! Alpha arbutin is among the leading agents for skin lightening as it helps in pigmentation along with acne scars. Alpha arbutin is able to do this as it affects the tyrosanase that effects the melanocytes in our skin. When the melanocytes are maladjusted or get aggravated it can lead to excess production and deposits on the skin, leading to pigmentation. The same pathway is altered for acne scars as well. Alpha arbutin is a version of the hydroquinone though it does not have the same cytotoxicity of hydroquinone. So its considered safe and very gentle in how it fades different types of pigmentations. It works beautifully for acne scars as well as melasma. Alpha arbutin from the ordinary performed just way better than the Alpha arbutin from the minimalist for me. This might be just cause I am so used to serums and use retinoid possibly making my skin more sensitive to Alpha arbutin action.
