𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫(𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬/𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓) 2024.09.20(Fri) @TheInternatiiional Studio (EN) Every artist who established their own style might be, for sure, but it's still not easy to be this 'nerdy' like Mount XLR. In his music, I even can feel a kind of obsession with sound. There's a primal pleasure to be had when Mount XLR's synths tear into your ears with their shredding, dense sounds. And as the audience picks up hints of the music he loves - UK bass, future bass, hip hop - Mount XLR throws the floor into an uncanny rhythm. His music feels like meticulously designed chaos. For this show, he tried his very first improvisation live performance. There was no set score, no timeline, no idea what it's going to be, but it was definitely beautiful. (KR) 자신만의 스타일을 공고히 한 아티스트들 중 그렇지 않은 사람이 어디 있겠느냐만은, Mount XLR만큼 너디한 음악가가 되기는 사실 쉬운 일은 아니다. 그의 음악에는 소리에 대한 일종의 집착까지 느껴진다. Mount XLR의 신디사이저 소리가 갈래갈래 찢어지며 촘촘하게 귀를 파고들 때는 원초적인 쾌감이 차오른다. 그 속에서 UK Bass와 Future Bass, Hip Hop등 본인이 사랑하는 음악에 대한 힌트를 관객이 하나씩 주워 담을 때, Mount XLR은 기묘한 리듬 속으로 플로어를 던져버린다. 그의 음악은 철저하게 디자인된 혼돈처럼 느껴진다. 이번 공연에서 Mount XLR은 처음으로 즉흥 연주를 선보였다. 정해진 악보도, 타임라인도 없어 종착지를 알 수 없었지만 의심의 여지없이 아름다운 셋이었다고 말하고 싶다.
