DEAR JUNE | Film by Adrian Pacini

I am so excited to share this film with you. I made this as my Sight & Sound Filmmaking final this past semester (Spring 2022). I worked with an amazing group of artists and could not be more proud of the work we created with the little time we had. I want to thank everyone who helped make this project a reality, I could not have done it without you. Please enjoy! SYNOPSIS (with spoilers): Elizabeth Holden writes letters to her father in 1944 New York City who is off fighting the war while her mother is always away working. Elizabeth lives with her older sister June who has been keeping the household together in the absence of their parents. As the stress of life and the burden of responsibility only grows for June, she is left with little to no choice when Elizabeth begins writing letters to her father in Europe. Knowing of their father’s MIA status, June takes the responsibility onto herself to see that Elizabeth is not burdened with the same reality she is. And that Elizabeth receives letters from her father that inspire her to be the greatest version of herself. All June has to do is make sure Elizabeth never finds out the letters are from her. As vignettes of life occur, the two girls navigate the world around them and juggle the very different pressures they feel from the world. Truths are hidden, lies are revealed, and all comes crashing down in the kitchen when Elizabeth finds a LIFE magazine filled with not just the stories from dad’s letters, but also all of Elizabeth’s letters themselves.
