Tom Mazhukeeran | The War Is Over: The Spiritual Battle Against a Defeated Satan The Christian life should not be founded on emotions or temporary spiritual excitement, but on the unchanging truth of God's Word. The central message of this study is: "The War Is Over." At the cross of Calvary, Jesus Christ defeated sin and Satan once and for all. Therefore, the believer's calling is not to defeat Satan again, but to stand firm in the victory that Christ has already won. However, spiritual warfare has not ceased. Our battle is not against Satan himself or against people, but against false thoughts, wrong beliefs, imaginations, and deceptive teachings that oppose the knowledge of God revealed in His Word. Satan's primary weapon is not power, but deception and lies. He seeks to plant fear, doubt, discouragement, and false ideas about God in the human mind. When these lies are believed over time, they become "strongholds"—deeply rooted patterns of thinking. Therefore, they must be torn down through the truth of God's Word. The believer's weapons are not physical. Among the whole armor of God, the only offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not overcome Satan through physical force or displays of power. Instead, He answered every temptation with the words, "It is written," demonstrating that God's Word is the believer's greatest weapon. Therefore, the believer's mission is not to fight for victory, but to live in the victory Christ has already secured and to proclaim the truths of God's Kingdom. As Christ's ambassadors, we represent His authority and enforce the reality of His accomplished work. In summary: Jesus has already won the war. The believer's battle is not against Satan himself, but against the lies he spreads. The greatest weapon for overcoming those lies is the Word of God.
