Behind Special Warfare Training: Medical Professionals

Do you have what it takes to make it through Special Warfare training? Meet the people who will determine that. The Operational Medicine Squadron (OMS) oversees the wellbeing of active duty, reserve, and civilian staff assigned to the unit. This team makes sure students are medically qualified and fully prepared for special warfare pipeline training. The Human Performance Squadron (HPS) delivers full-spectrum human-factors expertise using training and technology to support Special Warfare operators, staff, and candidates. Members of this team play a role in the holistic treatment of the candidates from injury prevention to rehabilitation. Technicians in the dietary, physical therapy, and mental health career fields help execute the group’s mission of advancing the Air Force’s ground combat capability by maximizing the lethality of the human weapon system.
