I Brought Hickory Clubs to Francis Byrne – A Golden Age Classic Restored

I brought my 100-year-old hickory sticks to Francis Byrne Golf Club, a classic Charles Banks design that’s been masterfully restored to its Golden Age roots. This place is pure golf—strategic, punishing, and absolutely beautiful. From a true Biarritz, old-school Principal Nose bunkering, to Redan templates, it’s the kind of course that makes you think on every shot... especially when you’re swinging century-old clubs. In this round, I try (emphasis on try) to score with equipment from another era. It’s one of my absolute favorite tracks, not just for the design, but for how it feels like stepping back in time.
