Trust Yourself. Trust the Process. Paint More. Stress Less.

What if the secret to becoming a better artist isn't creating fewer paintings—but creating more? In this video, I share a collection of quick, intuitive abstract paintings created as sketchbook warmups while learning a new color palette. Before committing these colors to larger, more serious works, I wanted to spend time experimenting, making mistakes, and discovering what they could do. You'll see a glimpse of my stay-wet palette setup, short clips of the painting process, and photos of the finished works. More importantly, you'll get a look into the mindset behind this approach. As a developing painter who began this journey later in life, I'm learning that artistic growth comes from showing up consistently, trusting the process, and trusting myself. These small paintings remove the pressure of creating a masterpiece and allow me to focus on exploration, experimentation, and learning. Every painting teaches me something. Some succeed. Some fail. All of them help me grow. By creating many small works instead of obsessing over a single perfect outcome, I can develop my skills faster, gain confidence, and stay connected to the joy of making art. If you're interested in abstract painting, intuitive art, sketchbook practice, artistic growth, creative process, flow state, or following the journey of an artist building a body of work later in life, I hope you'll join me.
