PM631 was built as Photo Reconnaissance (PR) Spiftire in 1945 and these aircraft used speed as their defence and were unarmed. Their defence was 445 mph (716 km/h) and featured a pressurise cockpit too. Delivered in 1946 to the RAF, she did not see any hostilities of WW2 and served with 204 Advanced Training School in May 1949 to January 1950. She then moved to Short Brothers at Hooten Park before proceeding to her next role with the Meteorological Research Flight until 1957. PM631 finally joined the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) in 1957.
