Sorry "Isn't the engine sealed? It's full of water. Isn't it leaking oil and polluting the river?" I still get this comment occasionally, so I'm going to seriously respond. (I'm tired of seeing comments from environmental conservation extremists...) First of all, the basic premise is, "Police investigations at the scene confirmed that there was no oil or other leakage." So, to those who still make comments about polluting nature, please stop your delusions. This is baseless slander. Based on the above premise, I'd like to address the issue of "You say the engine is sealed, but it's full of water lol." I thought this was obvious given the structure, and didn't think there was any need to go into detail... First of all, the engine is basically "almost sealed." However, there are certainly gaps. So, where are the gaps? The gaps are in the intake and exhaust sections. On the intake side (①), depending on the intake valve opening, there is indeed some gap. (Even when the cam is closed due to its position, there is still a slight gap.) The same is true for the exhaust side (②). Since there is indeed a slight gap between the cylinder and piston, technically, ① and ② are connected. Some of you may be thinking, "Well, that's a possibility that oil leaked out, lol," but based on the results, we can confidently say "not." Why? As for the intake side (①), as shown in the video, there is "absolutely no trace of emulsified oil." There were no traces not only in the air cleaner box, but also in the FI ASSY. "Absolutely not." As for the exhaust side (②), as also shown in the video, there was "absolutely no trace of emulsified oil" in the water when the front exhaust pipe was removed. The same is true here: "absolutely not." Since we are sharing such a clean, raw video (not a photo crop), please take it at face value. With all this evidence, it's still a bit of a stretch to claim that "oil leaked into the river!" (There are probably also people who say that leaks occur from other sources besides ① and ②, such as a deteriorated seal... but I'm sure I maintain my bike much better than the people who make those comments, so there's no way I'd just ignore a leak like that. Also, please stop saying things like, "The insulators are cracked, and that's where it's coming from." You can tell when it's malfunctioning... I have no intention of trying to take the high ground, but compared to those people, I care more about the condition of my bike, and I've been riding it for 8 years, so I know the difference. Even so, some people may still try to nitpick and say, "It could be that this is where it's leaking..." However, in reality, please see the first "assumption": "There's no leak.") The water entered through both ① and ②. So, there was "intrusion." (In fact, when I drained the oil, it was full of water, and a lot of water came out of the exhaust pipe.) Therefore, I was wrong to say "sealed" in the video. Let me clarify this point. Since there were no signs of oil leaking outside, I simply said, "The oil was sealed." You're right about "there was an intrusion, so it's not sealed." That's true, but I think the ulterior motive of the person making this comment is, "It wasn't sealed, so the oil could have leaked into the river, so don't pollute the environment!", but I omitted all the details and wrote "sealed" to mean that this is not the case. If you still say, "Engine oil will leak!", then that's just because you haven't maintained it properly. Before you start looking for faults in other people's bikes, make sure you properly maintain your own machine. That's just bad for the environment. But seriously, it would be dangerous if the oil leaked out that easily. (This might lead you to think, "My bike is losing oil!" But air-cooled bikes will lose some oil. Even water-cooled bikes can lose oil due to piston ring wear, but that's off topic.)
