El fin del pensamiento. 1984 lo predijo. Margaret Atwood nos advierte.

1984 predicted the end of thought. Today, with artificial intelligence, Margaret Atwood warns that it's already happening. We analyze her acceptance speech as Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Granada and why the humanities are the antidote. In this video, we analyze Margaret Atwood's speech and use it as a starting point to discuss something much larger: how artificial intelligence, algorithms, and the culture of instant content are making us increasingly less capable of thinking for ourselves. We discussed why the humanities—philology, history, philosophy, literature—are both denigrated and fashionable, the real difference between offering an opinion and conducting a methodical literary analysis, what neuroscience says about delegating thought to a machine, censorship and Orwell's "thoughtcrime" in 1984, why books have become commodities with the rise of romance and influencer books, and why understanding what is different from us—through history and literature—is more necessary than ever.
