YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Prambanan Temple on Wednesday afternoon (July 8, 2026). President Prabowo and Narendra Modi are scheduled to inaugurate the Prambanan Temple conservation project. Upon arrival, Prabowo took Modi on a tour of the Prambanan Temple complex. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon first explained the Prambanan Temple restoration plan. Previously, according to Prime Minister Modi, Prambanan Temple, which is more than 1,000 years old, symbolizes the cultural ties between Indonesia and India as a Hindu temple. The Indian government supports the restoration efforts of Prambanan Temple. This is in line with the joint statement made by the two leaders in 2025 during President Prabowo's visit to India.
