Approaching The Scene 298: Z9 FW5.0 & Z8 FW2.0 Action AF Settings Update (Bank B)

(LINKS BELOW): I’ve been having a blast with the newest firmware on both the Z8 & Z9. In this video I’ll show you exactly how I use my hybrid handoff autofocus for action shooting like birds in flight in tandem with recall shooting function hold (RSFH) for situations where auto subject detection is suboptimal. We’ll go through using these methods including when to tap or hold which button in various scenarios. Next I’ll show you have I’ve tweaked my Bank B action control settings layout set all this up and to best take advantage of the latest firmware updates. A lot of people have asked if I’m using the new “cycle AF area mode” control button setting. The answer is no. With the settings I show in this video, I have no need to use the slower cycle area mode method.
