UTU - Seeking Balance at the Tarawera 100 Mile Endurance Run

Gene Andrews dropped out of the inaugural Tarawera 100 Mile Endurance Run in 2018 at the Humphreys Bay aid station when his running partner and father-in-law tore connective tissue in his shin. Gene spent more than two years revisiting his failure before he came to understand the mental strength and commitment needed to run 100 miles and entered the 2021 Tarawera Endurance Run. This is the story of his race and how he sought to restore balance on the trails around Rotorua.
