I Found China’s Impossible Paradise on a 1,600m Cliff

Living a paradise in the clouds at the top of a 1,600-meter mountain—how much courage does that take?! This time, I came to Longyan in Fujian Province. Deep in the mountains, I used a drone and discovered a cluster of buildings built on a cliffside! Locals at the foot of the mountain call it “Tian Gong Mountain.” According to historical records, this “heavenly palace” dates back more than 1,300 years. What we see today is the result of several restorations over the centuries. You can even see several houses seemingly “hanging” right off the edge of the cliff, creating a truly breathtaking and nerve-wracking scene. It appears that fewer than 20 people live here.
