The Eastern Tiger Salamander: Everything You Need To Know!

On a nocturnal adventure during a winter rainstorm, we encounter the largest terrestrial salamander in North Carolina: the Eastern tiger salamander! When looking for amphibians, it's always important to be respectful of the sensitive microhabitats where they dwell! If you are flipping logs, rocks, or really anything that a critter might be using as a home (which is basically anything), please please please put them back exactly as you found them. It might not seem like a big deal, but for these little gummy lizards a slight temperature or humidity difference can mean life or death, so do your part to help salamanders out!
