The municipality square of Rasht includes the building of the municipality and the clock tower. This tower is one of the symbols of Rasht. In the past, it used for surveillance, security and fire prevention in the city. This historical square dates back to Pahlavi dynasty (Reza Shah Pahlavi) and is one of the modern places of Iran from the past up to now. In this square, the first municipality of Iran is located. Baladieh (old name for municipality) was founded in 1907 and was renovated later in 1926. This place was under control of Russians in the past and pattern of construction of it is from that country. Today, some historical parts like Telegraph Museum, Old hotel, Clock Tower and other buildings can be seen here. Shahrdari Square is the most famous landmark of Rasht. It is the heart of Rasht and it is in the middle of Rasht’s map. Some architects from Russia built this square more than 100 years ago. The most popular part of square is Municipality Palace. This palace was built from year of 1907 to 1926 by Artem Sardaraf. Municipality palace has a clock tower which rings every 30 minutes. It also rings according to hours. For example, if the time is 03:00, it rings three times. You can see sculptures around and in the middle of square. They are symbol of Rasht city. The most popular sculpture belongs to Mirza Kuchak Khan. National Library of Rasht is situated near sidewalk of Alamolhoda which has different view with markets. This library was built by Muhammad Ali Tarbiat in 1934. The library is open from 08:00 A.m. until 06:00 p.m. In Fridays and holidays, it is closed. Shahrdari Square plays an important part in the liveliness of Rasht. It has become a very popular meeting point for locals and as a result, it can get crowded in the evenings. The late-night tale of Rasht begins in Shahrdari Square, then whirls through the smog of the local kebab houses and the fountain pool of Sabze Meidan only to return to the Square of Shahrdari. Rasht has a circular shape and as a result wherever you go you will end up in Shahrdari Square. در این ویدیو در یکی از میدان های اصلی ایران میدان شهرداری رشت قدم زدم وجود بازارها و فروشگاه ها در این میدان، اینجا را به یکی از مقاصد رشتی ها برای پیاده روی و بدرقه تبدیل کرده است. میدان شهرداری رشت شامل ساختمان شهرداری و برج ساعت است. این برج یکی از نمادهای شهر رشت است. در گذشته برای نظارت، امنیت و پیشگیری از آتش سوزی در شهر استفاده می شد.نماد شهر رشت (برج ساعت) به هنگام وقوع زلزله مهیب و ویرانگر گیلان در سال 1369 آسیب دیده بود که چندی بعد به صورت سابق بازسازی گردید. میدان شهرداری در تاریخ 26 آذر 1356 با شمارهٔ ثبت 1516 به‌عنوان یکی از آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیده است قدمت این میدان تاریخی به دوران سلطنت پهلوی (رضا شاه پهلوی) می رسد و یکی از مکان های مدرن ایران از گذشته تاکنون است. در این میدان اولین شهرداری ایران قرار دارد. بلدیه (نام قدیم شهرداری) در سال 1286 تأسیس شد و بعداً در سال 1305 بازسازی شد. این مکان در گذشته تحت کنترل روس‌ها بوده و الگوی ساخت آن از آن کشور است. امروزه بخش‌های تاریخی مانند موزه تلگراف، هتل قدیمی، برج ساعت و ساختمان‌های دیگر در اینجا قابل مشاهده است. میدان شهرداری معروف ترین نقطه دیدنی رشت است. قلب رشت است و در وسط نقشه رشت قرار دارد. برخی از معماران روسیه این میدان را بیش از 100 سال پیش ساخته اند. محبوب ترین قسمت میدان، کاخ شهرداری است. این کاخ از سال 1286 تا 1305 توسط آرتم سرداراف ساخته شده است. کاخ شهرداری دارای یک برج ساعت است که هر 30 دقیقه زنگ می زند. طبق ساعت هم زنگ می زند. به عنوان مثال، اگر ساعت 03:00 باشد، سه بار زنگ می خورد. می توانید مجسمه هایی را در اطراف و وسط میدان ببینید. نماد شهر رشت هستند. محبوب ترین مجسمه متعلق به میرزا کوچک خان است.اجرای موزیک زنده به‌طور روزانه در صبحگاه و مناسبت‌ها توسط گروه ارکستر شهرداری رشت رو به روی درب شهرداری داخل محوطه میدان و در محوطه مخصوص گروه ارکستر از ویژگی‌های بی نظیر شهرداری رشت است. کتابخانه ملی رشت در نزدیکی پیاده رو علم الهدی قرار دارد که دارای نمایی متفاوت با بازارها است. این کتابخانه توسط محمدعلی تربیت در سال 1313 ساخته شده است. کتابخانه از ساعت 08:00 صبح باز است. تا ساعت 06:00 بعد از ظهر در روزهای جمعه و تعطیلات تعطیل است. میدان شهرداری نقش مهمی در سرزندگی شهر رشت دارد. این مکان به یک نقطه ملاقات بسیار محبوب برای مردم محلی تبدیل شده است و در نتیجه می تواند عصرها شلوغ شود. حکایت آخر شب رشت از میدان شهرداری شروع می‌شود، سپس در میان دود کباب‌خانه‌های محلی و حوض آب‌نمای سبزه میدان می‌چرخد تا به میدان شهرداری بازگردد. رشت شکل دایره‌ای دارد و در نتیجه هر کجا که بروید به میدان شهرداری می‌رسید.
