Tom GARÇON | designer, en résidence de recherche CCE

Tom Garçon is a designer and scenographer, a graduate of ENSCI's industrial design workshops in Paris. From January to June 2026, Tom Garçon was an artist-in-residence at the CCE Research Laboratory of the school. His research focuses on materials and their transformation methods. In a world of limited resources, the constraints linked to environmental challenges drive reflection and the production of new forms. He explores the relationship between desirability and frugality, while paying particular attention to the contexts of his projects, from the local to the global. The notion of hybridization is central to his approach, where he combines technologies, eras, and references. During his residency, he conducted a technical and artistic study of extruded ceramics on the scale of architecture and large objects. He explores new construction approaches associated with ceramics, particularly around a principle called post-tensioning. The idea is to develop new construction and structural approaches in order to imagine new uses and aesthetic possibilities.
