Increase in sustenance and blessings: Seeking forgiveness is a means of attracting abundant sustenance, including wealth and offspring, as Allah Almighty says: {So I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and provide you with wealth and children and make for you gardens and make for you rivers."} [Noah: 10-12] Relief from worries and ease of affairs: It removes worries and sorrows and opens doors of goodness and relief. Increased strength: Allah grants those who seek forgiveness physical strength and strength of faith. * A reason for mercy and entry into Paradise: Seeking forgiveness is a means of attaining God's mercy, as He, the Exalted, said: {Why do you not seek forgiveness from God so that you may receive mercy?} [An-Naml: 46]. Forms of Seeking Forgiveness There are several forms of seeking forgiveness, including: The shortest form: "I seek forgiveness from God." This can be repeated. A comprehensive form: "I seek forgiveness from God, the Magnificent, the One besides Whom there is no deity worthy of worship, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence, and I repent to Him." The Master of Supplications for Forgiveness: This is the best form of seeking forgiveness, as narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to say: "O God, You are my Lord, there is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I am upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You."
