Doug- From Nickelodeon Favorite to Disney Experiment | The Big Screen Leap

Hey everyone, welcome back to The Big Screen Leap! On today's leap, were talking about one of the most ordinary middle-schoolers with the biggest imagination, Doug! in 1991, Doug came to Nickelodeon. It was a show about Doug Funnie, an ordinary kid living an ordinary life in the town of Bluffington, we get to meet some interesting characters like his best friend Skeeter Valentine, school troublemaker Roger Klotz, and his crush Patti Mayonnaise. Doug ran on Nickelodeon from 1991 until 1994, then, the weirdest thing happened, Doug left Nickelodeon and started airing on Disney's ABC Saturday Mornings. It was basically still the same show, but with some updated animation, changes to characters appearance, and some updated storylines. Then, in 1999, Disney decided to put Doug on the big screen and have him deal with something that was way out of the ordinary for him! Today, we're going to look at: -The story of the show and how it transitioned from the slime channel to the Mickey Mouse channel. -The movie and the bizarre adventures Doug faces. -The similarities and differences. -And as always, the most important question. Was the leap from Saturday Morning Cartoon to Big Screen worth it?
