Chaturanga Dandasana is the best pose for developing basic arm balance in Ashtanga Yoga. While it's effective and frequently performed, it's often not properly trained to engage the muscles needed, which can lead to injury, and even with prolonged repetition, the necessary strength for arm balance poses isn't developed. In Chaturanga Dandasana, you need to consider shoulder movement, pelvic alignment, and leg activation. While correct movement may feel more challenging at first, remember that only through correct movement will you develop the necessary strength.
