सूर्यविनायक–धुलिखेल सडक विस्तारको ताजा अपडेट, Arniko Highway Expansion: Suryabinayak to Dhulikhel

अरनिको राजमार्गअन्तर्गत सूर्यविनायकदेखि धुलिखेलसम्म चार लेनको सडक निर्माणाधीन छ। दुई खण्डमा विभाजन गरेर धमाधम सडक निर्माण भइरहेको छ। तथापि यसको गति भने सुस्त छ। २०७९ पुस २४ गते सुरू गरिएको यस आयोजनामा हालसम्म ४७ प्रतिशत मात्र भौतिक प्रगति रहेको आयोजनाले जनाएको छ। सडक विस्तार चलिरहेको र बर्खामास पनि भएकाले बाटो हिलाम्य हुने गरेको छ। गत वर्षामा सवारी साधनहरू हिलोमा फसेकाले आवतजावतमै समस्या भएको थियो। यसपटक धेरै खण्डमा सब बेस, बेस बिछ्याएकाले समस्या नहुने आयोजनाले बताएको छ। धुलिखेल नजिकैको भागमा त कालोपत्रसमेत गरिसकिएको छ। कुल १५.५ किलोमिटर सडकमध्ये पहिलो चरणमा साँगादेखि धुलिखेल ८ किमी सडकखण्डको ठेक्का लामा कन्स्ट्रक्सनले लिएको छ। सडक विभागका प्रवक्ता भिमार्जुन अधिकारीका अनुसार ठेक्का रकम चार अर्ब पाँच करोड ६४ लाख रूपैयाँ छ। सूर्यविनायक–साँगा सडकखण्ड भने ७.५ किमी छ। उक्त खण्डको ठेक्का तीन अर्ब ८८ करोड ९३ लाख सम्झौता भएको हो। साँघुरो सडकका कारण बर्सेनि ट्राफिक जाम बढ्दै गएपछि सो सडकखण्ड विस्तार भइरहेको हो। उक्त सडकखण्ड विस्तारका लागि सूर्यविनायक–धुलिखेल, धुलिखेल–सिन्धुली–बर्दिबास सडक आयोजनाले विस्तृत अध्ययन प्रतिवेदन (डिपिआर) तयार गरेको थियो। अध्ययन प्रतिवेदनअनुसार यस आयोजनामा २०–२० मिटरका तीन पुल, जगाती र महादेवखोला पेट्रोल पम्पनजिक निर्माण गरिने आयोजनाले जनाएको छ। यसका लागि प्रतिमिटर १५ लाख रुपैयाँ लागत अनुमान गरिएको छ। यसको अनुमानित लागत ९० करोड रूपैयाँ छ। साँगामा डेढदेखि दुई किलोमिटर सडक जाने–आउने लेन तल–माथि गरी बनाइँदैछ। उत्तरी नाका तातोपानी पुग्न पनि यही सडक प्रयोग हुन्छ। सिन्धुपाल्चोक, रामेछाप, दोलखालगायतका विभिन्न ठाउँबाट आवतजावतका लागि यही सडक प्रयोग हुन्छ। आयोजना निर्माण सम्पन्न भएपछि धुलिखेल–भक्तपुरको सवारी चाप निकै कम भई सडक विस्तारमा अर्को फड्को मार्ने विश्वास लिइएको छ। संघीय राजधानीबाट बागमती प्रदेशअन्तर्गत मध्यपहाडीका बिपी र पुष्पलाल रार्जमार्ग हुँदै पूर्वसम्मको छोटो दूरीसँग धुलिखेल जोडिएको छ। यी सडकबाट अरनिको राजमार्ग हुँदै कोशी र मधेस प्रदेशका नागरिक काठमाडौं आउजाउ गर्दछन्। A four-lane road is under construction from Suryabinayak to Dhulikhel along the Arniko Highway. The construction is ongoing in two separate sections. However, the progress is slow. According to the project, only 47% of the physical work has been completed since the project started on Poush 24, 2079 (January 8, 2023). Due to ongoing road expansion and the monsoon season, the road has become muddy. Last year, vehicles got stuck in the mud, causing transportation problems. But this year, as sub-base and base layers have already been laid in many sections, the project claims such issues won’t reoccur. In fact, the section near Dhulikhel has already been blacktopped. Out of the total 15.5 kilometers, Lama Construction has taken the contract for the first phase, which covers 8 km from Sanga to Dhulikhel. According to Bhimarjun Adhikari, the spokesperson of the Department of Roads, the contract amount is 4.0564 billion rupees. The Suryabinayak–Sanga section is 7.5 km, and its contract is worth 3.8893 billion rupees. The expansion was deemed necessary due to increasing traffic congestion every year, caused by the narrow road. For this, the Suryabinayak–Dhulikhel–Sindhuli–Bardibas Road Project had prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR). According to the DPR, the project includes the construction of three 20-meter-long bridges near Jagati and Mahadevkhola Petrol Pump. The estimated cost per meter is 1.5 million rupees, with a total estimated cost of 900 million rupees. In the Sanga area, a 1.5 to 2 km stretch of the road is being constructed with separate up and down lanes at different levels (split-grade). This road is also the route to reach the northern border point of Tatopani and is used for travel from various districts such as Sindhupalchok, Ramechhap, and Dolakha. Once the project is completed, traffic congestion between Dhulikhel and Bhaktapur is expected to decrease significantly, marking a major milestone in road expansion. Dhulikhel is also connected to the eastern region via the mid-hill highways BP Highway and Pushpalal Highway under Bagmati Province from the federal capital.
