Ostwärts / Mountainbike Roadtrip durch die Trail Center Sachsens

Anyone in Germany who thinks of mountain biking has only thought of the Alps for decades. Yet the low mountain ranges in particular have developed extremely well in recent years. Saxony in particular. Germany's easternmost state is now fully committed to mountain biking and has created a wide variety of trails and bike parks. Reason enough to meet up with my friend @ScottyLaughland there and go on a road trip through the region with him. Because... as a Scot, from one of the countries where trail parks were practically invented, he knows exactly what makes a good trail park, and I want to know how he finds the region and its trails. Bikewelt Schöneck: Here you'll find a classic bike park with everything you need. Lifts, downhill slopes, but also very cool flow lines. The blue line in the bike park really has something for everyone, no matter your bike skills. Since there are also more difficult lines, you can really push yourself to your limits. Rabenberg Trail Center / Stoneman The Rabenberg is a textbook trail center. There are flowing descents, but also great trail ascents, so you don't spend your time on boring gravel roads to get to the next trail, but there are also fun uphill sections that present you with technical challenges here and there. The trail center is also part of the Stoneman Miriquidi. Klinovoc Trail Park / Oberwiesenthal The trail park connects the bike park and the trail center. While you can take the lift up the mountain in a relaxed manner, that doesn't mean it's any less strenuous. The three trails, Azur, Rubin, and Baron, are designed to make the most of the terrain and gain great length from the elevation gain. Some of the trails are over 10 km long and invite you to creative riding, almost like a pump track that goes downhill. Blockhausen / Blockline Many years ago, Andreas started building a wooden house in the forest. It has now grown into an entire village, where the Chainsaw Carving World Championships are held every year. The Blockline, a family route that connects great viewpoints and attractions in the region, also passes through here. Black Mountain Bike Park The crew at the Black Mountain Bike Park in Elstra did a fantastic job redesigning the small slope with a lift to really make the most of the elevation gain. The trails wind down the mountain at varying levels of difficulty. In addition to huge jump lines, there's also a great flow trail here that will put a smile on everyone's face.
