Insufferable Drunk Woman Crashes Car on Bodycam

On February 11, 2023, Bloomington Police Officer Demoss was conducting a traffic stop in a parking lot when the 28-year-old driver of a white SUV drove into the parking, jumped a curb, and proceeded to wedge her car between a tree and a metal guard rail. Officer Demoss called for backup and then made contact with the woman behind the wheel of the crashed SUV. She refused to exit her vehicle, stating she should be let go because she had to be at work in a few hours. She was extricated from her vehicle and arrested for DUI. She was transported to the Bloomington police station, where she refused to submit to standardized field sobriety testing. She also refused to submit to an evidential breath test. Officer Demoss applied for a received a judge approved search warrant for chemical testing, but the woman she refused, subjecting herself to a felony obstructing justice charge. She was transported to the McLean County Jail, where she became unhinged and had to be physically restrained by jail personnel.
